Our Story

Ikaris is a Melbourne based online boutique created with the intent to share our love for home & body products with you.

Created from the ground up, our creative director, Raquel had always been a lover of candles and beauty products. With a background in Journalism & Public Relations, she turned a passionate hobby into a hopeful dream and decided to put her products out into the world, where she started her own small business, Ikaris in 2022. 

The name Ikaris, is derived from the Greek mythological character ‘Icarus’ who was the son of a master craftsmen Daedalus, who created wax and feather wings for them both. Icarus was warned to not fly too high because his wings would melt from the heat of the sun - but he did so anyway. He fell from the sky as his wings melted and fell into the ocean and drowned. The moral of the story was to not fly too close to the sun, which is where they say the idiom originated from. The symbolism of the waxed wings, as well as our ancestors having Greek backgrounds were the perfect reason to start this small business with such a meaningful name! 

Each and every product is hand poured by us. Ikaris uses the best quality fragrances, glassware & ingredients that are all locally sourced here in Australia.
